From February 18th through to April 1st, Nova Scotia companies were invited to take part in LeaderConnect 2014 by applying on-line to be matched for a one-to-one meeting with a ConnectNS leader. Close to 50 members of the ConnectNS leadership team have signed up to offer their time and expertise.
"It's all about giving Nova Scotia companies that extra leg-up to help them become more successful, and hence globally competitive."
— Bob Kelly, Chancellor of St. Mary’s University, and Co-chair, ConnectNS
LeaderConnect 2014 attracted a surge of interest from companies across the province. From a family-owned manufacturer seeking new markets in Europe, to a tech start-up in Cape Breton interested in gaining new food & beverage contacts, companies of all shapes and sizes applied to take part. In fact, we received more than double the number of requests for matches than could be accommodated.
In the wake of the Ivany Report, Michel Samson, Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism (ERDT) congratulated the ConnectNS team describing LeaderConnect 2014 as,
“… an example of leaders from Nova Scotia's private sector and academia coming together to share their knowledge and experiences to help entrepreneurs and future leaders.”
We thank all applicants and ConnectNS leaders for their interest in LeaderConnect 2014. The application period is now closed and applicants were notified of selection during the month of May.
